Find Your Fit: A Simple Guide to Choosing the Perfect Custom Rug

 

1. Start with a floor plan....

Choose a furniture layout you like based on the size and dimensions of your room.  

2. Measure for your rug based on the space you would like to fill.

If you are a visual person, a handy tip is applying painters tape to outline the area where you may want your rug to go. Remember, the number #1 reason an area rug will look "wonky" in a room is because it's too small for the sitting area. It is always better to go a little bigger than smaller.

 

  • For rugs that will be used in living room or outdoor living room areas, we recommend leaving 6-18 inches between the rug and         the wall.
  • For rugs that will be used in dining room areas, we recommend the rug should include all chair legs and the rug should extend         2-3 feet from the table.
  • For rugs that will be used in bedroom area, we recommend in both layout options you keep the rug 6 inches away from the wall       and out of the way of pathways.
  • For rugs that will be used for hallway runners keep furniture legs off the rug.
